In the meantime, enjoy this guest article from Ed Harrold.
A term that is used to describe all the great Masters (Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed to name a few) is “enlightened”. So, what does it mean to be “enlightened?” Especially because all the great Masters teach that they’re nothing special and this potential is within all of us.
The term that resonates with me is “fully awake”.
When I’m fully awake, I’m not a slave to my thoughts. I’m not reacting to my thoughts. I’m the witness of my thoughts so they can be a transformational tool along my personal journey.
When I’m fully awake or conscious, I recognize the mind is limited and can only take me so far. I recognize that to master my true power, I must be disciplined with a spiritual practice.
A spiritual practice keeps me fully awake. I’m the clearest, most connected and plugged into my sacred source. My mind is still, my fears are gone, my faith is strong and my heart is completely open!
When I’m fully awake, I’m honoring my sense of self and experience a sense of freedom that is hard to describe but I physically feel it in every ounce of my body. I feel lighter, have more energy and treat my body as the sacred temple it is created to be.
My authentic self then transfers into my marriage, my family, my personal relationships, my business and much more and I feel ALIVE even on a perceived bad day.
When I’m participating with my thoughts and a slave to all my perceived negative aspects of my self, I transfer that into all my relationships. I then fall into negative habitual patterns because energy follows awareness. These patterns are built from memories that are in my body at a cellular level. This serves no one and separates me from the love and wisdom of our universal life force.
Admittedly, I prefer my authentic self and am grateful for my spiritual practice that reminds me of who I really am and that I am my own great Master!
Be your own great Master. Be your authentic self.
