What are some ways we can feel happier now?

When it comes to feeling happier, right now, there are many things that people can do to help relieve stress, and temporarily lighten their mood, such as taking a walk out in nature, or calling a friend.  But happiness is an inner condition, and lasting happiness comes from what we do on the inside. If you want the good feelings you generate from whatever actions you take to last for more than an hour or an afternoon, you need to do your inner work, as well.

Some of the inner work you can do to feel happier, now, is to sit down and meditate for twenty minutes before you move into whatever’s next, be fully present and aware of all that’s going on around and within you, or write down and process your thoughts and feelings about the day. As you do your inner work, a relaxation takes place that lightens your reaction to all that happens in your life and allows you to be in contact more deeply with your Beingness.

So being happier right now is a combination of what you’re doing in this moment to allow those good feelings and happiness, as well as the conscious awareness work that you do over time. Looking into the psychological and spiritual aspects of your being, helps you strengthen your emotional foundation and makes happiness more accessible to you no matter what’s happening in your life.
