In Hindu and Buddhist tradition, an Age of the World, part of the pattern of cyclical time. In Indian astronomy, the world is created, destroyed and recreated every 4,320,000 years. There are four Yugas of declining quality, each shorter than the last. The cycle is repeated many times. The four Yugas are Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga.
