In Indian astronomy, and according to the Hindu text, the Purana, the smallest measure in the cycle of time. A maha yuga is 4,320,000 human years, and repeats continuously. Each maha yuga is subdivided into four ages, or yugas - Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga, Kali Yuga - whose lengths decrease from age to age, Satya Yuga being the longest and Kali Yuga, the shortest.
