As relates to the Kabbalah, the word, chabad is an acronym for the three levels of the Sefirot: Chochmah, Binah, and Da’at (Wisdom, Understanding, and Knowledge). It is also a commonly used name for a branch of Hasidic Judaism called Chabad-Lubavitch, founded in the mid-1800’s by Rabbi Shneur Zalman.
