enlightenment; wisdom, awakening; the awareness of the true nature of the universe. The word "buddha” means "one who has achieved bodhi.” The extinction of raga (greed), dosa (hate) and moha (delusion).
In Buddhism, bodhi means the awakening experience attained by Gautama Buddha and his accomplished disciples. Once bodhi is reached one no longer must follow the cycle of samsara: birth, suffering, death and rebirth
Bodhi-Mind: (Sanskrit: bodhicitta, “mind of awakening” in the Mahayana tradition, the spiration for enlightenment in behalf of all sentient beings. Giving rise to the Bodhi-mind is the first step in establishing oneself on the bodhisattva path.
