The worship of the god Shiva. This school of Hinduism was first written about in the Shvetashvatara Upanishad, which dates from between 400-200 BCE, and is considered the oldest of the Hindu denominations. The practice of Shaivism is focused on self-realization and reaching moksha, or liberation, and is a devotional and mystical Hindu practice. Shaivism is nondual, in that it considers the creator and the created as one. There are many deities within Shaivism, but these are expressions of the Supreme, defining Shaivism as Monistic Theism.
